Fable Tea Room in the Leard House

A restored, historic, home where Lucy Maud Montgomery (the author of Anne of Green Gables) stayed while she taught in the school down the lane.

It was at this house that she met the "love of her life", Herman Leard.

Lucy wrote in her journal that she had a secret love affair with Herman while she was engaged to someone else.

During renovations, a corset, a garter belt, a man's handkerchief, and what appears to be a lady's night jacket was found under the floor boards.

(We'll leave that up to your imagination as to why they might have been put there!)

There is a museum above the Tea Room where Montgomery artifacts are displayed.

Location: 2904 PE-112, Lower Bedeque, PE

Distance from our BnB: 37 min.
